Introduction

Welcome to Klink Languages. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use Klink Languages. These terms apply to all users of the Klink Languages web application.

What Klink Languages does

Klink Languages is a language learning tool that helps you turn handwritten vocabulary notes into digital flashcard decks and interactive exercises. The service includes:

• Scanning and parsing handwritten or printed notes
• Generating flashcard decks, quizzes, listening exercises, and conjugation practice
• Ready-made vocabulary decks at various CEFR levels
• Personal story generation based on your vocabulary (Pro plan)
• Text-to-speech pronunciation for supported languages
• Progress tracking and spaced repetition scheduling

Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use Klink Languages. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please verify your email address after registration — some features require a verified email. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings; this permanently removes your data from our systems.

Acceptable use

You may use Klink Languages for personal, non-commercial language learning. You may not:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API
• Use the service to generate or distribute harmful, illegal, or misleading content
• Share your account with others or resell access to the service
• Circumvent scan limits or other plan restrictions through technical means
• Upload content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights

Plans & billing

Klink Languages offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. This means Paddle handles billing, invoicing, and applicable taxes on our behalf.

• Free plan — includes 3 scans per month, all exercise types, starter decks, and support for 1 language pair. No payment required.
• Pro plan — €9/month (or €84/year). Includes unlimited scans, personal story generation, multiple language pairs, and priority support. Billed monthly or annually via Paddle.
• Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
• Prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law. Paddle calculates and remits all taxes.

Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings or via Paddle's customer portal. After cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at [email protected].

Automatically generated content

Klink Languages uses third-party language models (including Anthropic's Claude) to parse notes, generate exercises, and create stories. While we strive for accuracy, automatically generated content may contain errors. We do not guarantee the correctness of translations, exercise answers, or generated text. Always verify important language information with authoritative sources. The content generated is intended as a learning aid, not a definitive reference.

Intellectual property

Klink Languages and its original content, features, and design are the property of Klink Languages. Content you upload (photos of your notes) remains yours — we use it only to provide the service. Generated content produced from your inputs is yours to use for personal learning purposes. You may not reproduce or redistribute Klink Languages's interface or branding without written permission.

Limitation of liability

Klink Languages is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including data loss, incorrect translations, or service interruptions. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Klink Languages shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Klink Languages after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
